A little over a year ago, Andy and I replaced our very, very old mattress with a new memory foam mattress.  When I say very old, I mean that we should have probably already replaced it twice by the time we did.

It’s recommended that you should replace your mattress every eight years, because it can break down causing poor back support, is a haven for dust mites and all kind of nastiest!  (If you want to test that theory, weigh your mattress the day you get it and then the day you replace it!  It will double in weight!)

When I was growing up, we had waterbeds, and looking back, they’re great for your back, and they definitely don’t collect mites, and you can control the temperature!

The bed isn’t the only factor for a good night’s sleep.  When is the last time you changed your pillow?   I know that I got a new pillow when Jett was born, and frankly, you should change them every year or so.  They also collect dust mites, oils from your skin, dead skin, and so much more!

I received a couple of contour memory foam pillows, for review, from My Waterbed Shop, and if you like firm pillows these are great for you!

  • Temperature Sensitive Memory foam gently softens and molds to your unique shape.
  • Contour shape supports your head and neck alignment
  • Includes Washable velour cover.
  • Excellent for use as travel pillow.
  • Medically beneficial
  • Hypo-allergenic

I’ve always been the type of person who sleeps with my arm under the pillow, but with the memory foam pillow (even though I’d like for it to be a little thicker), I don’t have to, because the contour shape supports my neck they way it should, and it helps me sleep better.

Are you ready to start getting better sleep?  Start with your pillow, and work your way to changing your mattress!
