When I think of purchasing items for baby, the first thing that always comes to my mind is “How much is this going to cost me?”

Not too long ago, I read about a family who hired a certified baby planner (Did you even know there is such a thing?  I didn’t!), and because they trusted this person, they ended up spending a lot of money on products and furniture that was useless because it was their first baby and they had no idea what they would need or not need!  Not only did they buy a lot of useless items, they purchased them from high priced baby stores not realizing there was a cheaper option.

Walmart is taking the time to let families know that you don’t have to go broke to raise your little one with the awesome affordable baby products that you just can’t live without!

Jett is my fourth and final kiddo, however, I am a labor doula, so I’m fortunate enough to see new babies born and grow up all the time!  I love sharing what works and what doesn’t work for us!

Walmart Every Little Step Event

Did you know that Walmart has a special event for babies every September and February?  I remember going to a store wide Walmart baby shower in September before Jett was born, and we had such a great time (they gave away lots of free stuff – and even had cake!).

During the Walmart Every Little Step Event, you can get great values on awesome baby items in stores through September 13 and online through September 20!

I am a huge fan of Fisher-Price.  My ALL-TIME-FAVORITE-BABY-PRODUCT (thank you Sister In Law) is the Fisher-Price Rock n’ Play Sleeper.  We used it with Jett, then we passed it on to a friend who passed it on to another friend who is hanging on to it for dear life.  It’s awesome.  I recommend them to everyone!

Although we co-sleep, and aren’t in need of a crib, one of the coolest baby products at Walmart, right now, is the Fisher-Price “Just the Right Height” Fixed Side Convertible Crib priced at $249.98.    I love this crib, because no matter how tall or short you are, you can adjust the height of the crib to fit your needs.  It helps with getting your baby in and out of the crib!  I like that it’s convertible to a toddler bed and then to a full size bed with headboard, and during the Every Little Step Event, it comes with a free bonus mattress!  That’s actually GREAT news!  Have you priced crib/toddler mattresses lately??????  Not only that, but the cribs also have personalized nameplates available for purchase.

All Fisher-Price cribs are JPMA (Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association) certified.

Another cool thing I learned during this event is that (even though we cloth diaper) Pampers has extended the size of ther Swaddlers line to Size 5!  Let’s face it.  There are times, as a cloth diapering family, that we need or choose to use disposable diapers for whatever reason.  No judgement.  We all do what works best for our families.  I like the Pampers Swaddlers line, but Jett outgrew them about a year ago, so we’ve had to resort to using other brands as a back-up diaper for him.  Sizing has always been an issue with my boys, even with cloth diapers, so I’m glad for the expansion!
