Happy Android App Friday!  I have to give you a little disclaimer, today, that the Flappy Bird game is NOT one of my favorites (you’ll see why in a bit), but I felt like I needed to share it, because it’s actually the Top Free App in the Google Play Store this week.

Flappy Bird by Gear Studios has a very simple description with the most basic instructions that I’ve ever seen on an app.

How to Play

  • Tap to flap your wings to fly.
  • Avoid Pipes.

Can’t be that hard.

When I opened it up, I thought it was going to by some type of Mario themed game because of the pixelated bird and the Mario pipes, and it probably is, but it plays NOTHING like Mario.

In the past two days, I’ve attempted to make the Flappy Bird fly through the pipes at least 400 times, and I’ve only made it through a total of FOUR.  Yes.  Four.

I don’t think the hubs can get higher than 6 or 7, and the teen has only been through about 7 pipes, too (although her’s say level 25 or something, because her friend made it through that many – how, I do not know!)

Addictive?  Yes.

For this most part, this is about how far I get… every time.  Yep, that’s the first pipe.
