Easter this coming weekend, and with it comes alllll that candy from well meaning relatives and older neighbors. They have sweet intentions to be sure, but what about the hyperactivity and sticky faces that you’ll be dealing with for the next week?

In order to avoid cavities and accidents due to hyperactive craziness, get creative and find ways to limit your children’s sugar intake over Easter and the days that follow.

Don’t allow your kiddos to have all the candy at once.

Give them a handful on Easter, and then space it over the next week or two.

One idea is to let them know that if they get their chores done without grumbling, there is a higher chance they’ll be allowed Easter candy. You can keep candy in a jar as an incentive for those who have behaved lately.

If they’ve been given chocolate or anything that could be used in baking, use some of it to bake with your kids. You can use leftover candy to make cookies, birds nests, or even cupcakes. The kids will have fun baking and you can relax knowing they aren’t eating all that candy in one sitting.

You aren’t a bad mom for limiting the sugar intake of your children no matter how much they whine. You’re actually doing them a favor in the long run. Who wants all those cavities anyways?them a favor in the long run. Who wants all those cavities anyways?
