The Hubby and I are always looking for different apps to make our everyday lives easier.  We use budgeting apps, grocery store apps, bank apps, and recently, we’ve even started playing a family game on an app.  Discovering the free Softcard app has been great for payment convenience when out an about!

Softcard is an awesome mobile payment platform for Android and Windows phones with over 275,000 participating retailers.  You can even plan ahead and check out which locations accept contactless payments along your travel route via the website or app.  You simply download the app, create an account, add your cards, and go shopping!

We love this for holiday traveling.  All we have to do is grab our phone, order food or check out at a store and tap our phone to the contactless system.  (I love this!  Especially when traveling with kiddos!  You don’t need to take in your whole purse!)

After downloading the app, you will be pleasantly surprised at how much easier shopping and dining with be when you can simply pull up the SoftCard app on your phone, tap, and pay.

It’s very simple!  Open the app and enter your pin code.

 

Choose the card you’d like to use as payment.

 

Tap your smartphone to the contactless payment terminal.

 

Then, wait for the cashier to confirm that your payment was received.  That’s it!

 

There is also the option to upload your loyalty cards which is actually great for your wallet, because you don’t have to worry about the extra bulk.

In addition to ease of payment and use of loyalty cards while out and about, SoftCard also had great offers for users.  From money back to cash off of your purchases and gift cards to free products, the SoftCard app has lots of perks.  Check out one of the perks we received while using the app to get breakfast over the holidays.  Combine this with loyalty card perks, and it will save a lot of money! Take Walgreens for instance.  When you load your Walgreens Balance Rewards Card to the SoftPay app, you can use the app to tap your Rewards Card which grants you points that eventually convert to cash.  Then, you tap to pay for your purchase and get one step closer to Amazon Credit.  Just by using the SoftCard App for any purchase you can, you’re racking up free money.  You can’t beat that!

And parents of trustworthy (ha!) teens – many of the school Coke vending machines in our area accept tap to pay, so if you trust your teen, or they have their own bank accounts with debit cards, they can download the SoftCard App as well and tap their phone to the machine to pay for their drinks! This comes in really handy when your kiddo has to stay after school for whatever reason and doesn’t have change!
