Netflix Inspired Halloween! Trick or Stream! | #StreamTeam

I love October.  It's usually a kick off  for cooler weather (unless you're in south Texas, like us!), all of the great foods start coming out of hiding, festivals are in full swing, and Halloween is just around the corner to kick off three solid months of holiday fun! One of the things we haven't yet thought about, and we let it sneak up on us every. single. year. is costumes for the kiddos. Movies and TV shows are always a great inspiration for Halloween costumes, and for the most part, you can usually find items lying around your house to…

6 Reasons you should watch Leverage on Netflix | #StreamTeam

Thanks to a friend of ours who randomly posted about Season 5 being on Facebook, the hubs and I have become obsessed with Leverage on Netflix. Sadly, I have to say that for the past couple of months, we've (on average) watched at least two episodes of Leverage per night.  Yeah, on average. Sometimes, more.  Truth be told, the hubby is REALLY into it.  There are nights that I have to say, "Ok, I need to catch up on my Astros."  Leverage has 5 seasons (2008-2012) and they're all on Netflix. Watch Leverage on Netflix! There is a team of…

The Best of Me now on Netflix | #StreamTeam

I've got to tell you about a movie I recently watched on Netflix.  It just became available for streaming last month, and I was having an off day, so I decided to find something and just lay in bed and watch it while the boys were away for the day (shhhh don't tell anyone!). I ran across a movie called The Best of Me.  It came out in October 2014, and it's a Romance/Drama.  I noticed that it had James Marsden (eeek! Cyclops) in it, so I just had to watch it.  It was one of the best movies I've…

Netflix Summer Originals | #StreamTeam

This summer, you're going to need something to watch while taking a break from the heat.  Netflix has some great original series to watch while you have downtime on vacation, waiting for your little one to finish with dance or baseball practices, or when you simply need time for yourself, Now that baseball is in full swing, The Hubby is pretty upset that his Netflix time has been drastically reduced!  I'm a huge baseball fan, so I love to watch the games from start to finish.  He really didn't want to upgrade to the baseball channel for the season, because…

Netflix Lessons on Lying | #StreamTeam

Whether we like it or not, lies are a part of life. Adults, teenagers, and kids alike tell lies in an attempt to stay out of trouble, to protect others and to make others happy. Some lies, like the white lies that we tell everyday are harmless. We say we're good to avoid getting into a discussion about our tiring, chaotic day filled with family drama and we tell our kids that Santa is real and can totally deliver gifts to every kid in the world on one single night. Other lies however, aren't that harmless. Like when you catch…

Disney Movies of the Past on Netflix | #StreamTeam

February is definitely a Disney month in the BTK household!    All month, we prepare for The Entertainer's birthday party which has a Disney Side theme!  A couple of weeks ago, I decided to go through the list of Disney movies for ideas, and there were some movies that I'd either forgotten about or had no idea that they were even Disney movies! We decided to take that list and to turn to Netflix for ideas and much needed refreshers on Disney movies of the past!   Did you know that Fantasia came out in 1940, and then in 2000, Disney restored…

The Adventures of Puss in Boots on Netflix | #StreamTeam

One of the things i love most about Netflix is that there is so much from which to choose, that my kiddos can find anything to watch at any given time!  Right now, The Minion is stuck on shows and videos about animals, so the new DreamWorks presentation of the Netflix originoal serious, The Adventures of Puss in Boots,  is right up his ally! Truth be told, The Adventures of Puss in Boots on Netflix is great for all ages!  I catch myself watching it from time to time!  Season 1 has 5 episodes available, and you're guaranteed to love them!  We take turns…

Mini Milestones with Netflix | #StreamTeam

We've had some pretty significant events in our house over the last couple of months!  We don't really go crazy over firsts or milestones, but some of them are a little note-worthy this go 'round!   The Hubby and I officially launched a local community website complete with community event calendar, business directory, and city resource list.  This was no small feat!  There was a lot of time, research, and late nights involved, but together we make it work.  It's a great asset to our community! The Teenager (aside from the broken bones which will be left for another post!) attended…
