Even though baseball season has begun, I think we’ve had cancelled games and practices more than we’ve actually had them due to the rain!  On days like those, the kiddos get antsy, and they just want to get up and move, so I’m so thankful that our neighborhood just had playground construction done and the weather is cooperating, it constantly gets Wetpour Maintenance!

Jett loves going to the playground down the road from our house with new Playground color coating.  Normally, when we go, there’s no one else there, so he can be the King of the Castle if he wants.

He can also run until his little legs just can’t run anymore!  (I have to watch him, though, because he’ll outrun me!)  I have NO idea where he gets the energy!  Not only was he running in an open field, but there are lots of low places in the ground, and that area is one big hill!

He loves climbing this boulder/rock wall! This is actually a picture of him on his way down… and not by choice! his feet slipped out from under him as he giggled all the way down!

By the time I’m finished chasing him around, I need time to sit back, relax, and rehydrate when he passes out!  The Teenager and I love these Julius tumblers!

Paul Frank’s fun character Julius Jr. and the Center for Childhood Creativity (CCC) gives us some fun, creative ways to get up and get moving through creative thinking activities if you’re not able to get out and be active.

Obstacle Course

Objects you Needs to Created Your Invention:

  • An inside or outside space where your child can have some freedom to move around freely
  • Inside options:  painter’s tape, small chairs and tables, yoga mats or carpet squares, naturally occuring obstacles like stairs, a beach ball, rolling toys, pillows, or sleeping bags.
  • Outside options:  a safe playground equipped with playground toys for schools, a hiking trail or a park area with naturally occurring obstacles such as sticks, holes, curbs, tree branches, low walls, rocks streams, boulders. You can also contact Playground Rubber Safety Surfacing specialists who can provide playground markers to ensure that the space for the kids is much safer.
