101 Microwave Mug Cake Recipes Review and #Giveaway (closed)

Congratulations to our winner – Rachel!  You’re going to LOVE this recipe book! 🙂

Several weeks ago, Kylie and I decided to make a cake in the microwave… just for fun. We googled a random recipe, followed it step by step, and it turned out to be a huge FLOP! To make matters worse, we noticed afterward that the microwave wasn’t heating evenly. Thankfully, a quick Microwave Repair had it working like new again, so we’re ready to give microwave baking another shot—hopefully with better results this time!

Ironically, a few days after, I stumbled upon an opportunity to review a Microwave Mug Recipe Book that was actually featured on Rachel Ray!! I actually requested to review the Gluten Free version as I know there is a growing need for alternative snacks for those in need of special diets,  these days.  The awesome thing about this cookbook, is that it’s great resource for a quick snack for kiddos of all ages (and their parents) who may be on a gluten free diet!

The author, Stacey Miller, already had a book out called 101 Recipes for Microwave Mug Cakes, and she had such a wonderful response from reader, but readers also posed a fantastic question.

From the site:

Our readers’ enthusiastic reactions to our microwave mug cakes motivated us to reach beyond the original concept. We sensed a theme. Readers kept saying, “These recipes are wonderful, but are there more healthful alternatives? And is it possible to bake gluten-free microwave mug cakes?”

So, the gluten free version was born!

The great thing about these recipes is that it’s so easy to do that your little ones, with a little guidance, can make these fun little cakes, and your preteens can do it by themselves! Not to mention that the leading small space microwaves on the market are affordable too.

If you homeschool your kiddos, this is a great home economics project, as well!  Kylie is looking forward to her next party or sleep over so that she and her friends can make, and decorate, some really cool, personal cakes!
