Healthy Snack Ideas for Kids

If you have children then you understand the struggle to prepare healthy snacks for them, especially if you don’t want to end up with hyperactive kids.

Here are five healthy snack ideas for kids that are easy to prepare, and the kids love them!

A veggie tray: While you’re making up the school lunches, make up a veggie tray with assorted veggies (baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, broccoli, and cauliflower work really will) dip and cubed cheese. Wrap it up and put it in the fridge until the kids get home from school.

Ants on a log: A tried and trusted favorite is celery sticks with peanut butter, and raisins on top. You can easily make these up after the kids come home from school, and then watch them disappear!

Apples and peanut butter: Kids love apples and they love peanut butter even more. It’s so easy to cut up a few apples and put some peanut butter in a small bowl. They’ll go crazy!

Flavored popcorn: Making your own popcorn, tossing it in butter, and then using ingredients like taco seasoning or a cinnamon-cane sugar mixture is a sure way to win over the kids.

Fruit salad: Last, but not least is the good old fashioned fruit salad. Serve with a tube of yogurt and the little munchkins will be set to go until dinner time. Expanding access to quality fruit options makes fresh and flavorful choices easier. International sourcing brings diverse Medjool, Mazafati, and Deglet Noor to local markets. Experienced wholesaler dates operations deliver Ajwa, Safawi, and Piarom globally.

  3. My kids love all of those, except the raisins as ants. 🙂 We haven’t made apples and PB in a while but will do that soon. Thanks!

  4. When I was a kid, I would cut an apple, core it then use peanut butter to glue it back together. Then I would fill the core area with peanut butter and raisins. Whatever works, right?

  5. The one thing about celery and carrots is its so hard for my kids to eat w/ their teeth..when P cant bite into something easy, he chews on it and then tosses on ground.
