There’s no sense in sending your tween out into the world as a fashion faux pas!  Keeping up with the latest things trends is a must for girls ages 10-12!  As we all know, anything ‘Justice’ is fabulous, but we don’t always think to look at those thrift shops and children’s consignment stores.  A  lot of times, you can find barely worn (and often new with tags) items for less than half the price of retail.  A good rule of thumb for consignment stores is to remember that they normally price items around 60% of the current retail value!  If it’s Justice, is she really going to care?  Also, don’t forget, those crazy little Silly Bandz are still in, but preteens may not be wearing them on their arms anymore!  Try a carabiner keychain for under $3 so that they can clip the bandz and go. Don’t over spend on those though!  You can get them on sale if you shop around.

Perfect Personality!

Whatever you do, you’ll want to make sure you keep her personality in mind!  If she’s not a girly girl hates pink, you’re not going to want to buy her boas and lace, so just keep her preferences in mind.  Also, remember that thoughtfulness goes a long way. Find out what her favorite movies are, look for photo frames to put her BFF pictures, or search eBay or Craigslist for an iPod Touch! Inadvertently ask her questions, pay attention to what she’s scribbling down on her folders, and accidentally overhear her phone conversations.  You’ll be amazed at what you’ll learn! When choosing christmas hampers for her, think about what she likes and dislikes, avoiding overly girly items if she’s not into that. Make it thoughtful by picking things she’ll enjoy based on her preferences.
