Today, I am sorting through buckets and boxes of donated cloth diapers to send out to more than 30 babies this week.

I am a full time volunteer for The Cloth Diaper Foundation, Inc. Along with 4 other full time volunteers, I dedicate much of my time to helping families successfully cloth diaper their babies while alleviating much of the financial burden of the upfront cost of cloth diapering!

Our Mission

Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is dedicated to helping qualifying families all over the continental United States get a jump start on cloth diapering. Cloth diapers are a more natural, healthy alternative to disposables that reduce overall waste, thereby helping the environment. As a supplementary program, it is not our wish to be a family’s sole source for cloth diapers; rather, we assist families while they build their own supply of diapers. We accept donations given by caring individuals and redistribute them to families in need.

There are currently 33 babies in need of diapers on my list, and I expect at least 20 more by week’s end!  (Actually, I also have 3 misc. diaper packages to send as well as 12 review samples for Motherlove Diaper Rash and Thrust Salve (cloth diaper safe, that is) so that CDF can do a huge review and giveaway!!)  We actually send free cloth diapers! All the approved recipient pays – is shipping!

So exactly how many diapers will I be sending as of right now?

Each baby receives 12 diapers.
I have 33 babies on my list.
I also have 3 misc. packages of approximately 5 diapers each.
We’re looking somewhere in the ballpark of 411 (give or take, depending on how many I send in the misc. packages).

You want to know what my living room look like at the moment?

All of these are cloth diaper donations that have been received over the last couple of weeks!

If you would like to donate cloth diapers to families in need, please visit our donation page to see if there is a cloth diaper drop off location in your area!  If not, you can always mail them in, or, if you’re an established cloth diaper business, find out how to start a drop off location in your area!

Also, remember that we’re always in need of monetary donations!  My house doesn’t always look like this (thankfully)!  We have monthly bills such as storage costs, shipping supplies, phone/fax, office supplies, mail/package delivery service, etc.  If you would like to donate money to The Cloth Diaper Foundation, it would be most appreciated!

Last, but definitely not least, if you are in need of cloth diapers, we invite and encourage you to apply for a cloth diaper loan for free cloth diapers!
