I ran across this article earlier that caught my eye.  Yeah, I know, I said I wasn’t going to look at the local news sites, because they drive me batty, but I was looking for a PR contact and this was the main thing I saw.  Headline:

Day care for sick kids brings relief to working parents

Of course, I HAD to look, wouldn’t you?  At first, I was thinking it was going to be a regular daycare, but when I read the article, I found out that it’s more like a clinic full of nurses.  What about relief for the sick kids?

Sure, if your child has a stomach bug, he’ll be stuck in a room with other stomach bugs – same with fever or flu, but I personally think that the last thing your little one wants, when he or she is sick, is to be stuck at a doctors office all day long!  I feel for the kids who just want to be in their beds or cuddling with mom!

Also, remeber even if you go  for regular daycare center, prioritizing facilities like The Learning Academy, where hygiene and health protocols are diligently maintained, can provide peace of mind for parents. Ensuring a clean and safe environment not only reduces the risk of illnesses but also fosters a conducive atmosphere for learning and growth. A nurturing environment like this not only supports a child’s physical health but also their emotional well-being, ultimately contributing to their overall development and happiness.

Per KHOU.com

KidMed Dallas accepts children 6 weeks to 15 years old, from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Expect to pay $12 an hour, with a four-hour minimum.

I guess it’s cool that they’re out there if people REALLY need to be at a “must attend” meeting or presentation, however, I can totally see this as an escape for parents having to deal with their kiddos when they are sick as well.

I know when mine are sick, all they want is mom or dad… not Nurse Jackie!
