You would think that with all the new gadgets and gizmos coming out by the droves every year, the boys would want more than just xBox games, and Kylie would move past her iPod Touch obsession.

The boys were happy with their Lego Pirates of the Caribbean and Lego Star Wars III the Clone Wars games, but we decided to go with an Android tablet rather than an iPod Touch for Kylie.  Boy, did that ever backfire on us.  We purchased a new one off of eBay on Cyber Monday, and including warranty, it was cheaper than the iPod.

Christmas morning, Kylie opens her tablet, and things were great!  It worked, we set up her Google voice so that she could text, and she was so happy.  That is, until, she couldn’t download any apps.  Then, she walked upstairs and was unable to connect to wifi.  I could see the disappointment on her face every time she’d try to connect to the internet to download a game.  She never once complained. It was so sad to see her so excited and then hold in her frustrations over an awesome gift that didn’t really even work! We felt so bad about the tanked deal that we ended up one day shipping a Kindle Fire to her as a replacement. She was ECSTATIC! (Did I mention that Andy got me a Kindle Fire for Christmas, too? Yes, we spent way too much in tablets this year!)

I’ll tell you what, though, next year, we’re going to have to do a little more research before buying a deal that has the right price! We may even have to win a bingo jackpot or something to recover!
