In less than 40 days, I will be headed out to the bright and sunny Pensacola Beach with an awesome group of fantastic bloggers to connect, have fun, and enjoy the time we have together!

There’s only one catch!  I’ll have to leave my (then) 7 month old, strictly breastfed baby home with daddy.  That’s not such a terrible thing, except for the past month, we’ve tried just about every bottle system and nipple shape and size that you can imagine.

That is, until last week when I received a surprise package on my doorstep that contained a mimijumi baby bottle.  The paper that came with the bottle had a subtitle of “Transitioning Between Breast and Bottle“.  My prayers were answered!  This sounded like something I needed to wash and try right then and there!

With natural colors, textures and forms, the mimijumi baby bottle provides the perfect complement to breastfeeding and the best possible transition to bottle feeding.  The innovative nipple design replicates a mother’s breast, creating a natural feeding and latching experience for a happier and healthier bottle fed baby. Bold colors and soft textures are combined to give the mimijumi baby bottle a distinctive, eye-catching appearance.

I immediately thawed and warmed some milk that was already frozen from previous pumping sessions, and poured it into the mimijumi.  Jett made a cute little face at the bottle, and grabbed for it like it was a toy.  The look on his face when he realized that he could not only suck on it properly, but actually get milk from it as well, was awesome.  The feeling that came over me, knowing that all was going to be fine, was priceless.

The real test, though, was going to be when daddy got home.  It’s easy for a baby to take food and be nourished by mom.  The hard part usually comes when it’s Daddy’s turn to feed the baby with a bottle for the first few times.  This bottle is so amazingly similar to nursing from the breast, that Jett had absolutely no problems with it!

It is such a relief knowing that I do not have to worry, and that Jett will not starve while I’m away.  We wasted so much money and time searching for the right bottle, and had this not shown up for me, we’d still be searching!

I’m doing this review in hopes that other families who are looking to transition from breast to bottle will try this bottle first.  It worked for our obviously very picky baby, and it would be great if you could find a bottle on the first try!

mimijumi has two bottle sizes.  The “Very Hungry” bottle is 8 ounces, and the “Not So Hungry” bottle is 4 ounces. The nipples come in three different flows so that as your baby gets older, he/she can consume your milk faster.

I asked Andy how it feels to be able to feed his little one, and he said it’s great.  He’s so happy that he can do more than just hold him!  He’s been practicing with Jett, and it’s so sweet to watch him from a different perspective rather than looking down (although, I love that, too!).  No fear, though.. I’m not giving up nursing, just sharing!

I think is one of my new favorite pictures of Jett and Andy!

Disclosure:  I was surprisingly and thankfully sent a mimijumi “Very Hungry” baby bottle in exchange for my honest review.
