Music has that incredible power to transport us to different moments in our lives, doesn’t it? It’s like a time machine. Whether it’s a classic tune from the 80s or 90s or something more recent, like a track from the Bass Dust Playlist, the right song can instantly evoke memories and emotions from the past. It’s like each note carries a piece of our history with it.

As I sit here getting a little work done, I have it on Hit Country music station on DIRECTV, and a song came on that took me back to when I was seven years old.

We lived in Sealy, Texas, at the time, and our dentist’s office was pretty close to our daycare.  Mom picked us up from daycare, and as I opened my door to head into the dentist, I found a cassette tape on the ground.  It was a white tape, that said “The Oak Ridge Boys Christmas” across the top!

You know, I held onto that tape until we moved a couple of years ago (unfortunately, I lost it), and I used to enjoy listening to it every Christmas! I absolutely adore all the songs on the album, and even though it’s more than 30 years old, it still feels timeless to me. By the way, have you ever tried searching for those classic tunes on tubidy music? They might have a collection that brings back some great memories!

So, if you lived in Sealy, Texas, and you lost your Oak Ridge Boys Christmas cassette tape in 1985, I had it until about 2 or 3 years ago!  No fear though, it gave me many, many years of joy!
