Disclosure:  I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Duracell. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

When you think of batteries, what is the first thing that comes to mind?  TV remote.  Xbox controllers.  Clock.  Flashlight.  These are some of the things that would have come to my mind prior to learning about Duracell Quantum Heroes.

We use batteries in this house like there’s no tomorrow, and I’m pretty sure if your family is similar to mine, you do as well.

Today, and every day forward, when I think of batteries, I will think of Chelsea and the Fairborn, OH Firefighters who saved her life.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect when I watched this video, and I can remember thinking “Oooh!!  Tim McGraw!  Eye Candy!”  As the video played on, I literally gasped and put my hand over my mouth.  Simultaneously, tears started pouring from my eyes.  Grab a tissue.

You can watch the extended version of this video and other documentary style videos that shine a spotlight on the incredible work of first responders and their stories of sacrifice and heroism at Duracell Quantum Hereos YouTube channel.

This year, Duracell has donated one million batteries to first responders across the country to help them power their life-saving equipment.

First responders use Duracell batteries in equipment such as life-saving breathing apparatus, tracking devices, and flashlights.

This week, as we all turn back our clocks during the time change, how many of you actually changed out the batteries in your smoke detectors?  Did you know that this is a piece of life saving equipment in your own home?  Please be safe and grab some Duracell Quantum Batteries and recharge your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

What I like about the Duracell Quantum Batteries, aside from the fact that they feature a distinct bright red color (which coincidentally signifies “courage” which is an awesome trait of Duracell Quantum Heroes as well!), but they also have a high-density core (stores more power), and they’re the only battery with Powercheck.  Powercheck allows you to put a finger on the bottom of the battery as well as a finger on the dot toward the top of the battery to check how much power is left in it.  This is great when you find random batteries laying around in a drawer!  Also, Duralock Power Preserve guarantees to lock power in the battery for up to 10 years in storage!

Make sure you head over to Duracell’s Facebook and Twitter pages and tell your first responder stories using the hashtag #MyQuantumHero.  For more facts about Duracell Quantum Batteries, check out the Duracell Fact Sheet.
