If your boys are like mine, they like weird, gross, abnormal, and flat out creepy things!  National Geographic has a new set of books out that are perfect for my boys, because The Gamer thinks he knows everything there is to know about everything, and these books have help bring him down a notch and realize that there’s a whole big world out there of things that even he doesn’t know!

Of course, after dinner one night, I gave Braxton the first book called Ultimate Weird But True 2, and the first page he and The Entertainer opened the book to was this fact and they couldn’t believe it!  Then, I saw the fact about school on the very next page, and I couldn’t believe it.  I just guess in my mind that I thought they went to school more days than that!

I have to admit, I’ve only given them the first book, because I wanted to wait to give them That’s Creepy and Are you “normal”? for Christmas, but I’ve looked through all of them, and there are some awesome facts!

Ultimate Weird But True is a hardback book, and the other two books are paperbacks, but the quality of all the books are fantastic.  There are bright pictures and facts in all of the books that will be great to sit around as a family and check out!

Let me just tell you that the guy with “Werewolf Syndrome” will kind of creep you out, and the “Shore Things” will keep you scratching your head!  You will also not believe how many kids have never even tried to do a cartwheel, or just how many people still watch movies on DVD!

Make sure you check out the books below and listen to Kid Lit Radio with Lisa Loeb as she talks about the Weird and Creepy things found in these books!  These will make fantastic gifts for your kiddos this year!

Ultimate Weird But True 2: 1,000 Wild & Wacky Facts & Photos! by National Geographic

Content is all-new, with new chapter titles and even more too-strange-to-believe stories, such as: the world’s most expensive hamburger, which breaks the bank at $295; the world’s largest chocolate sculpture; duck fashion models; and many more oddities.

That’s Creepy: Spine-Tingling Facts That Will Test Your Creep-out Factor by Crispin Boyer

In a world where werewolves rule and vampires are just the boy or girl next door, kids love anything that will scare the pants off them. But how do you separate fact from fiction? Do haunted houses, spooky ghosts, and UFOs have a place in history, or is it all just a bunch of hooey? Crawling with spine-tingly facts, eerie anecdotes, and fun information, this book is all about everything creepy, kooky, mysterious, and spooky. It’s a perfect book for the bathroom library or to read by flashlight under the covers. Just don’t tell kids how much real science and history they’re actually learning!

Are You “Normal”? 2: More Than 100 Questions That Will Test Your Weirdness by Mark Shulman
