Last week, when the boys were randomly flipping through channels, they ran across Saved by the Bell.  Screech was doing something silly, and it caught their interest.  I decided to scroll through Netflix to see how many episodes were on there, and I had no idea that there were SO many different Saved by the Bell episodes and even movies!

TV Sitcom Memory Lane with Netflix

Did you know that in addition to the 182 episodes of the original SbtB that there is a precursor season 13 episode season called “Good Morning, Miss Bliss” with Haley Mills that was actually their Jr. High years, also 15 episodes of “The College Years”, 143 episodes of “The New Class”, and the movies Hawaiian Style and Wedding in Las Vegas.

I decided to look through Netflix and keep strolling down memory lane, and I found one that I can remember being hooked on, and then a couple of years ago, my daughter went through Netflix and between disc and stream, she watched every. single. episode. of Full House.  She was so hooked on Uncle Jesse and the gang that she would talk about their situations.  What I really liked about Full House (and most of the 80s-90s shows is that even though they started out with some kind of rebellious issue, by the end of the show, there was always a way to show kids who were watching where they went wrong and what they can do in the future to make better decisions!

After seeing those two shows, I decided to keep scrolling!  Here are a few of my favorite blasts from the past!

TV Sitcom Memory Lane with NetflixFamily Ties – Seriously, who could pass up Michael J. Fox?

Three’s Company – Oh, how I miss the silliness of Jack, Janet, Crissy, Larry, and Mr. Furley!  Man, memories.

The Wonder Years – Back when the whole family could sit and watch evening TV!

Golden GirlsThis was totally before Betty White knew she was awesome.

Growing Pains – Kirk Cameron was (and still is in my book) the bomb!  Loved this show!

The Cosby Show – The whole family used to sit around and watch this one.

A Different World –  Loved how this one was a continuation of Cosby.

Fresh Prince of Bellaire – Because no one can resist doing “The Carlton”.

Married With Children – Totally inappropriate for kids in the 80s/90s, but we couldn’t resist watching!

Alf – You know you watched!

Family Matters – Urkle set the precedence for “Nerd Day” attire across the nation!

Then of course, when we have family get-togethers, my sisters and I still try to remember all the words to the theme songs of shows like Different Strokes, The Facts of Life, and Three’s Company!

All in all, though, I love watching the old shows and seeing how far some of these actors and actresses have (or haven’t) come in their careers!

There are so many shows that were good, wholesome shows, that I’m going to make a point to go back and watch with my kids.  I think it’s great that Netflix has most of these great shows (and so many more) so that we can stream them right to our TVs.  I even love that you don’t have to have it connected to your Xbox, and that you can go through a Roku or something similar and watch in any room!
