Motivating kiddos to work, or to get anything done can be a huge challenge. Growing up my mom would always come up with the most ingenious ideas to get all of us working.

Ways to Get your Kids Motivated

One thing that never seems to fail when it comes to kids, is having a goal to work towards. Even if it’s something small, such as homemade Popsicle for dessert, goals are a great way to get the kiddos to stop whining and start working.

For example, if the yard or basement is in desperate need of cleaning this spring, one idea is to motivate kids is to offer a goal of going to the movies once it’s all picked up. Local theaters often have dollar shows during the late spring and summer, take advantage of these shows and use them to motivate the kids.

If you have active kids who are easily motivated by sports and physical activities, invest in a volley ball net, big building blocks, or inflatable pool over the summer. Kids need motivation and encouragement, if they’re encouraged to get their chores done in a timely manner and know that privileges will be gained, there is a higher chance that they’ll actually listen for once.

What motivates your kids? What can you do to motivate and encouragement to work harder? Figure out what works best for your family, and your parenting style and use those ideas to come up with some fun and awesome motivations during this spring and summer.
