First of all, I just have to say GO ASTROS!  ALW Division Champs!  Super excited about the playoffs and the chance at BACK TO BACK World Series Titles!

The Johnston Gaggle

Since the last time I really blogged about my kids, they have really taken all new personalities, interests, and headstrong attitudes (well those are kinda the same!)

The Teenager won’t be a teenager much longer!   Five more months, and she’ll hit the big 2-0.  She’s now a Shift Lead at Fuzzy’s Tacos and just rocking in.  She’s also doing some awesome photography, and she’s taking some online classes.  She recently moved back into the house — just as I started turning my (air conditioned/insulated) garage into an office.  So that’s an adjustment.

The Gamer is still a gamer, however, he’s been given a new nickname since he started high school band.  They call him Cornet Kid.   I like it.  Has a great ring to it.  When he started band in Middle School, we only allowed him to use the hubby’s uncle’s cornet which is about.. 175 years old.. or maybe just  35 Anyway, he ended up LOVING it, but we only allowed him to use Andy’s good trumpet for contests and concerts.  Now that he’s in high school band, he’s using the good trumpet full time, KILLING IT, and he’s still pegged as “Cornet Kid”.

The Entertainer is still an entertainer, but he’s so much more of a Mama’s Boy than I would have ever thought.  He’s so loving and huggy and sweet, but he still has that same feisty, fun, smiley personality.  He’s moved more into a gamer role these days as well, but Entertainer still fits him.

The Minion…  this kid, in three days, will no longer be a Minion.  He’s one of the smartest, most observant kids I’ve ever met, and he’s so eager to read any and every word he sees.  However, he’s going to be a challenge. He’s giving his teacher a hard time not wanting to do his work at school, so we’re dealing with that.  He’s also got some GI issues going on, and we’re waiting on a date to get him in to the pediatric gastroenterologist.

Shiloh and Roux are still ruling the house!  We have THREE robovacs to keep the dog hair at bay, but they’re good girls, and we love them. Shiloh just turned 3, and Roux will be 2 in a couple of week!  Happy rescue babies!

Now that the Teen has moved back in and invaded my territory, I’ve decided to branch out and actually move into an actual office that’s NOT part of my home!  This is also going to be an adjustment, but we’re in the process of adding some wiring, new air conditioner, cleaning it up, etc.  I’ll keep you updated on the progress!
