Since I got my new Fitbit One a few days ago, I’ve been tracking my sleep habits with their awesome graphs on the Fitbit dashboard.

I knew I had been tired, but I didn’t really really just how much sleep I was not getting.  My graph is all over the place, and one night it said that I was awakened 27 times!  Can’t be right, can it?

Well, we co-sleep, and Jett still nurses, but that’s not the entire problem.

My mom has a history of not sleeping.  They’ve tried to do a sleep study on her, and it’s been inconclusive.  I think I have the same issues.  So, couple unknown sleep issues with a baby who wakes up sever times a night, and you don’t sleep much.

I really think that a LOT of my problem is the snoring hubs. I mean, I snore too, now that I’ve gained so much weight, but he’s not as bothered by it as I am.  I have 200 different things going through my head when I lay down, and last night, I realized that they pretty much stem from his snoring.  Now, I know he can’t help it, so I’m not mad at him (even though that doesn’t stop me from kicking him black and blue all night long), but I lie there thinking all of these things…

  • Will I ever be able to fall asleep?
  • I hope the baby sleeps a while after I fall asleep.
  • Is he going to wake the baby?
  • Oh.. the baby’s moving.. don’t snore.. don’t snore..
  • Why is he not stopping when I kick him?
  • Ugh… the baby’s awake…

I love co-sleeping, because I love having the baby right there to be able to nurse when he wants (I can still sleep while he’s nursing!), but I wonder, sometimes, if I should get some sort of sleep earphones.  You know, the ones with the headbands?  I can’t sleep with earbuds in my ears.

But then, I’d worry that I’d not hear something that I need to hear, like one of the boys waking up, or the smoke alarm.

Do you sleep with a snorer?  What do you do to drown out the sound and still stay aware of your surroundings?
