As you may have read, I’m ready for a kitchen remodeling project. We’re really near to getting a kitchen renovation at this point, but I would really like to figure out a way to work with what we have and liven it up a little!

Thanks to a few reader comments, I’ve been looking for ideas on Pinterest and Houzz for different ideas!  I’ve found some really great,  affordable kitchen accessories at Lakeside Collections.  What I’m realizing is that I’ve been scared of the cost of organization and decor for no reason.  This site is great for my budget.

Part of my problem is that my counter tops and cabinets are pretty small, so before I try to make major changes, starting with organization is definitely a must, and it doesn’t have to be expensive at all. Whether you decide to renovate your indoor or outdoor kitchen, it’s important to consider which parts of the space you should change and which ones to keep.

 $4.95 Kitchen Cabinet Organizers

affordable kitchen accessories

My mom is able to put lids on all of her pots and bowls so that she can turn the lids upside down on them and stack them, but we’re not able to do that, so this is a great solution for our family.  Beats throwing everything in the cabinet and hoping it stays there when you open it!

$17.95 Two Tier Dish Drainer

I’ve never actually seen a two tier drying rack, but this one is pretty cool! I’m all for utilizing ‘air’ space and not taking up the entire cabinet!

$4.95 drymate Kitchen Dry Mat

I think I’d like to put this dry mat under the drying rack, though!  Because our counters actually have floor tiles and grout, water tends to collect in the grout groves.

$12.95 Stacking Utility Baskets

Again, I really like the stacking feature.  Up is good!

$14.95 Metal Compos Pail

For compost, we currently use a large, bright orange bowl, which is in NO way cute or even appealing!  This is a really, really cute idea for a compost bin for my counter top that won’t see gross to my guests!  I love it.

I know this has nothing to do with organization, but while we’re talking about appealing, check out this pretty set!

For $8.95, you can either have the table runner or the placemats, but I think it’s worth spending the $18 for the entire set!  I love this set.

The key to rebooting your kitchen is actually taking it a little at a time.  You don’t have to go out and buy a ton of kitchen accessories all in one paycheck.  Purchase one or two items every other week, and before you know it, you’ll start seeing the transformation that you can live with!  This is my plan!  Make sure you check out Lakeside.com, though, because they really do have affordable products for your home!  All of these products above can be purchased with less than $60 – I can totally live with that!
