It seems like every time I turn around, there’s a new “box of the month” site that pops up.  Just this weekend, Andy was telling me that they even have them for adults!  It’s a really neat concept, if you think about it.  You pay a monthly fee, the company sends you a box with stuff you probably wouldn’t have even thought about buying,  and you’re instantly turned on to new brands!  Genius.

At first, I was skeptical, but when my bluum.com box showed up, I was really excited to see all of the great (and yummy) stuff that came in the box.

The site is really easy to navigate.  All you do is put in your baby’s name, date of birth (or estimated due date), gender, and click on “get bluum”.  From there, you add all of your billing and shipping details, and you’re good to go.   They only send the box once per month (on the 17th), and there is a count down timer on the site that lets you know the cut off date for the next box.

You can choose from the following subscriptions:

  • 1 month – $24.95 (billed monthly, cancel anytime)
  • 3 months – $23/month (pay upfront, auto renews)
  • 6 months – $21/month (pay upfront, auto renews)
  • 12 months – $20.79/month (pay upfront, auto renews)

Each box is advertised to contain a value of $50+.  The products that are sent in each box are based on your little ones age, gender, and developmental stage, and you have the ability to purchase the products you love directly from your account!  It’s actually a pretty cool idea!

The products that I received in the box are:

  • Kandoo Hand Soap
  • Kandoo Flushable Wipes
  • Lift the Lid Vinyl Book
  • 2 Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars
  • Potty Watch
  • BabySoy Socks
  • Crocodile Creek 2 inch Board Book
  • $20 off $75 product coupon code for signingtime.com

What I like about bluum:

I really like that you can earn free boxes for referrals! I love that it’s not the same box for everyone, and they really try to take age specific milestones into consideration when putting together the boxes.  The box came with a card from bluum that stated the theme of the box and gave tips for the theme.

It also reminded me to log into my account to learn more about the products as well as earn reward points for reviews.  It also told me what the theme is for the next box, which is actually pretty awesome!

Where I think the box could have been improved:

It’s actually a great box for those who are ready to potty train at 22 months, however, my son is not (although we’ll be ready for when he is!) and that milestone is a little hard to pinpoint when it comes to age.  The products valued about $32 and the $20 coupon made the box a $50+ value.  I would have preferred $20 more in products, but all in all, there was some pretty neat products in the box that I’d never have known about without receiving the box, which is the whole point of the box!

I’m actually looking forward to receiving another box that I just purchased just to see what kind of cool stuff I get next time!  I’ll update you all on my next box as well!
